One Hot Week...

These past couple of days has been unbelievably hot. I heard we broke a new record for how hot the summer is. I’d rather NOT break records every year. One year we may break the record but there won’t be too many people around because we’ve all died from the heat or moved away.

Work has been going at a slow pace. We are getting ready for a new release so everything is pretty much on hold. The only exciting thing I did this week so far was help the Flash developers add ActionScript code to a screensaver they were creating that detected mouse movement on the Flash presentation and made the screensaver go way to reveal the presentation behind for a certain period of time, kind of like Windows does. Other than that I’ve spent most of my time looking up PHP security issues and working on my Gallery component for Joomla. It exploded in popularity this month so my attention has been focused on that. I also started working on the Pro version and that seems to be coming along pretty well. I’ve been getting a lot of feedback from users on ways to make it easier for people to understand and use the component. There are still those people that don’t bother to read documentation or ask questions, but for the most part the questions people ask have been consistent and easy to resolve. I’m working to update my website so that I can add commonly looked at articles and the likes on the front page. This would make it easier for people to find.

Kaia is really growing. She spends a lot more time in her room playing these days. Maybe it’s because that’s where all her toys are located. She’s been on a Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! spree for the past month. She is saying a lot more words now, some words obviously coming from the show. Mae is doing a lot better at putting her pictures up on the net. I bet she’s going to have a lot of fun when we go to the Philippines.

It looks like a lot of the Tea Party candidates are coming out ahead in the Primaries. It’s funny how the pundits keep talking about how much enthusiasm the Republican voters have and how there’s not much excitement and low voter turnout on the Democratic side. I personally didn’t go to vote so I guess I could be counted among those that didn’t turn out for the Primaries. But it doesn’t matter to me which Democrat wins the nomination. It only matters that a Democrat wins in the General Election. I will definitely turn out for that. I’m sure there are others out there just like me. It will be interesting to see how the November elections will fair…
